Essentials

Clothing (Appropriate for season, activity and location)

One day’s clothing per zip lock. Cold weather clothes in separate bag.

  • Day pack should be comfortable to wear and big enough to carry all the essentials, including food and water.

  • Backpacks must be large enough to carry personal and patrol gear.

_____ Rain cover for pack
A large plastic bag or garbage liner will work...but not for long.

Sleeping gear (bag, pad, ground cloth)

  • _____ Sleeping bag (or 2-3 blankets, wool or close-cell synthetic)

  • _____ Sleeping pad (closed cell, preferably)

  • _____ Ground cloth (light tarp or emergency blanket)

Eating kit (container and utensils)

  • _____ Large non-metal cup or bowl

  • _____ Spork (or fork and spoon)

  • _____ Plate (preferably, a plastic Frisbee)

Personal hygiene

  • _____ Soap (like Campsuds)

  • _____ Toothbrush

  • _____ Toothpaste

  • _____ Dental floss

  • _____ Comb

  • _____ Washcloth/bandanna

  • _____ Towel

Optional items (if you packed it, bring it back)
